We stopped the youth care ban. Now let’s meet the new Legislature.
In 2026 the Legislature passed AB 104, a ban on gender-affirming care for anyone under 18. Governor Evers vetoed it on March 31, 2026, and on May 13 the Assembly failed to override him. The ban is dead. Thank you to everyone who called, testified, and showed up.
A new Legislature starts in January 2027, and every bill starts from scratch. Now is the time to introduce yourself to your state senator and representative. Tell them who you are and why protecting trans people, and the care we depend on, matters to you.

The internal documents show no clinical reason, no board vote, and no paper trail for who made the call. A federal court has since struck down the federal order UW Health pointed to, in a case Wisconsin joined, yet as of November 2026 the pause is still in effect.
